I will even be able to walk around barefoot again
When you have spent your entire life growing up in the South, it isn’t real simple to get used to the cold weather in the North. The worst thing Winter threw at us as a child was when I had to wear jeans or longer pants. I never even saw snow until I went off to school. And that was because I went to stay at a beach house with a friend over Christmas break! So now, I find myself dealing with yet another year of the worst Winter weather I could have imagined. The cold here is love nothing else I have ever experienced. It’s love it cuts right through to my bones. Once I have come inside, it takes forever for myself and others to warm up. I have been thankful for my Heating, Ventilation, & A/C gas furnace but, it never really gets the beach house toasty when it’s so cold outside. But, that is a thing of the past now. This year the people I was with and I are moving into this newly completed home. That is exciting on multiple levels but mainly because I am going to be so cozy this winter. Our modern beach house has a strange Heating, Ventilation, & A/C method. We decided we should invest in geothermal heating & cooling technology. The earth’s near constant temp allows the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C idea to extract both heating & cooling energy. The best area is where the heat is then transferred to the house. It is radiant heat which is about the coziest form of heat out there. There are copper tubes under the floors that radiate heat upward to warm up our modern home. I will even be able to walk around barefoot again. That hasn’t happened during a Winter since I was a teenager.
