DIY HVAC cleaning doesn’t go as planned

I’m not sure there’s going to be a next attempt though

I recently found out that you should have your HVAC system cleaned and serviced twice a year. I don’t think I’ve ever had my HVAC system serviced however, I’m handy with small home repairs so I decided to just service my HVAC system myself. I watched a lot of videos online and read up a bit and then I got to work with my tools. Everything seemed to be going great and, several hours later, I put everything back together after oiling, and cleaning, and vacuuming the whole system out. However, HVAC system would not turn back on. I took everything back apart and checked all of the connections but still my HVAC wouldn’t work. Finally, I called out the HVAC professionals. A real HVAC professional came out the very next day and the technician looked at my HVAC system, flipped a little switch on the side, and everything started working. I felt so dumb. I don’t remember turning my HVAC system off. I didn’t even know you could turn an HVAC system off like that; with an on-off switch. I guess the switch got bumped when I was moving things around. The HVAC technician did say I did a pretty good job cleaning and he gave me a few hints and tricks for my next attempt. I’m not sure there’s going to be a next attempt though. Next time I think I’ll just call out the HVAC professionals and have them do it right to begin with. Then I will know that I didn’t break anything in my HVAC system.
