When it rains it pours.
That’s what my old man used to say whenever something bad took a turn for the worse.
He was always amazingly calm about it though. It’s like he understood that things could go from rotten to cataclysmic even when trying to make things better. In those occasions, I remember he would sort of just wash his hands, grab a beer and relax in the HVAC. Didn’t matter if the lawnmower he was attempting to fix just burned to a cinder in the driveway. It just turned out that way and he wasn’t going to beat himself up about it. I wish I was that way. However, in this instance it took a very expensive HVAC repair before I could wash my hands and grab a beer. And, that very expensive HVAC repair was due to my insistence that I was helping not hurting. Now I know, anytime you thinking you’re helping when it comes to HVAC repair, uh no you’re not. The HVAC seemed to be acting sort of funny one Sunday morning. I was looking to get out of going to church so, I made this big song and dance about how I needed to work on the HVAC. While ditching church for this reason isn’t cool, I was indeed hoping to find and fix the HVAC problem. What made me think that I had any place fooling with such a complicated machine is something for the head shrinker. But, I thought I could maybe figure it out and, in doing so, save on a professional HVAC repair. It went poorly from the start and immediately got worse. It took less than an hour before I caused over a thousand dollars worth of HVAC repair.
