Health insurance rewards wellness

When I first started my job, there was no insurance available for employees.

  • Rather than providing health insurance for the entire workforce, my job offered a $200 stipend so employees could find their own health insurance if they chose to.

This wasn’t going to suffice. I ended up signing on with a group health insurance plan and have been amazed by the many benefits. I’ve been able to utilize their fitness plus wellness plan. In order to maintain lower insurance premiums, I was encouraged to enroll in health and fitness programs that track my progress and offer points for accomplishments such as attending the gym, enrolling in weekly fitness classes, and signing up with a personal trainer; Best of all, they supply membership discounts at gyms all across the city. I was delighted by the system of receiving rewards for participating in group fitness classes and improving my physical and mental health levels. I took advantage of the fitness program and began getting money credited on my health insurance policy. I was more than happy to enroll at a gym right across the street. I am able to take advantage of their sauna and wide range of workout equipment. Several times per week, I workout with a personal trainer and take part in group fitness classes. I never expected that a health insurance company would lead to an increase in my physical fitness. I was initially motivated by the cost savings, but now I push myself to achieve my fitness goals. I feel better than ever.
