I hurt my wrist when I was trying to vacuum out our air ducts

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to clean out my house.

I like doing spring cleaning every year, and everything seemed pretty dirty to me so I wanted to get started early last week.

One of the things that I really wanted to get done was the dirty air ducts, air conditioning registers, and heating vents. I realized that I had never really paid much attention to my ventilation system or my HVAC system either, for that matter. I had never once had the ventilation system professionally cleaned by an HVAC technician, so I thought it was probably time I did it. Anyway, I called my local heating and cooling company to see if they had any appointments available for ventilation and air duct cleanings. Of course, they didn’t have anything available right away and they also didn’t have any ductwork cleaning specials going on. With those two things together, I decided that I didn’t need an HVAC professional to do the air duct cleaning for me anyway. I decided that I would just go ahead and vacuum out my heating ducts and A/C vents myself. This turned out to be a big mistake, though. I dragged out my vacuum cleaner and my extension ladder and I started taking the covers off of my air vents. I should have realized that my equipment was nothing at all like professional HVAC equipment. And I also should have realized that I was going to injure myself with all those cords and the ladder! I ended up falling and hurting my wrist when I was in the middle of vacuuming out one of the heating vents. Next time, I’m waiting for an HVAC professional.
