I was working in the garage last weekend and I thought I heard a strange sound coming from the AC unit.
I told my husband about the sound, because I was worried that the AC unit was going to break down.
My husband told me not to worry and he didn’t think there was any strange sounds coming from the air conditioner. Yesterday, I heard the same strange sound coming from the AC unit again but this time it was much louder. I called my husband at work because I was very concerned. He told me to call the AC repair service so they could check on the strange sounds. I made an appointment and the AC technician came to our home to investigate the problem. I was right all along and the strange sound was absolutely coming from the AC unit. In fact, it was the beginning stages of a problem with the blower motor. The AC technician delivered the bad news. The blower motor was $900 to replace, but the AC unit will not run without the machine. My husband and I did not have any choice except pay the fees for the new blower motor. The AC repair company gave us a 10% discount because we are a repeat customer, but we still had a huge bill to pay. I knew the air conditioner was making a strange sound last week, and I wish I would have made the call to the repair shop sooner.. It might not have prevented the problem, but we will never know for certain.
