I taught my daughter how to repair A/C units on her own

If she had any questions, I would have her try to figure out the answer first before I gave any help

As a retired HVAC technician, there is one important thing that I learned, and that’s having knowledge of HVAC units and how they work and incredibly important, and will probably save you a ton of money in the future. Most people don’t know how to take proper care of their AC and heater, and because of this, they start having issues, and then they have to pay a HVAC professional like me to fix it. Then their air conditioning is all good for a while, before it will start having issues again, because of the lack of care. So, I knew when I had my daughter, that I did not want her in that situation. When she was in her teenage years, I made it her responsibility to take care of the heating and cooling compnet. Something she detested, but it will benefit her in the future. This included HVAC maintenance under my supervision, changing the A/C filters and cleaning the air conditioner. If she had any questions, I would have her try to figure out the answer first before I gave any help. I had her do this for years, until I felt she knew enough about HVAC components where I could back off a bit. Now that she’s an adult, she knows enough about HVAC devices to actually repair them on her own, which makes me incredibly proud. Knowing that she is never going to worry about the HVAC difficulties that countless other people worry about, or worry about losing money over the HVAC machine, is a very good feeling.
