I wasn’t expecting the need for new ductwork.

Every couple of years, I called the Heating and A/C company and have them send someone out to wash and inspect the ductwork.

I assume how important it is to keep the ductwork cleaned, because should there ‌be a clogged pipe, it could cause destruction to the AC or gas furnace. I had already done a cursory inspection of the ductwork, so I wasn’t expecting any immense bills coming from the inspection. When the Heating and A/C Tech told me ‌I needed to have my ductwork updated, it surprised me. I certainly was not expecting the need for new ductwork. When he quoted me the cost for the ductwork, I was flabbergasted. It shocked me so much that I could assume my heart palpitating. I asked the Heating and A/C professional if he was sure that the ductwork needed updated. He first took me up into the attic and showed me the rust that was inside the air vent. He said he was finding small holes, breaks, and rust on the inside and outside of the ductwork. If I didn’t soon remove the ductwork and have it updated, he said it would ‌crumble. My first thought was to get a minute opinion on the ductwork until he started showing me the wear and tear. Every one of us set down, and he gave me numerous strange quotes for ductwork. The first estimate was for traditional metal ductwork. The minute estimate was for vinyl adaptable ductwork. I knew I had to tell my spouse about the condition of the ductwork, and then every one of us had to stand down and figure out which one would be better for the house.
