I am a salesman for work, but I’m not in love with the lifestyle.
- I easily do not prefer to travel for work, however occasionally it is necessary to hop on a plane and get to the other side of the country.
There are a few clients that the two of us have on the other side of the world & someone has to handle those dealer accounts face to face. Once a year, someone has to fly to the location to balance the books in person. This year, I drew the short straw. I didn’t want to go, however my grumpy boss insisted that I didn’t have much say in the matter. I wasn’t feeling gleeful about traveling on an aircraft, & I was even less gleeful about traveling for a week during a time of year when the weather would be extremely cold & icy. I was not feeling thrilled about flying in the serious weather conditions! Luckily, I arrived 30 minutes early on my flight. I checked into our hotel before going to the local site for a few hours. As soon as I checked into the hotel room, I first turned on the heater. I wanted the room to be sizzling & toasty warm for me when I finally returned from our meeting. I left a do not bother sign on the door & headed out. When I came back to the hotel numerous hours later, unfortunately I realized that I didn’t turn on the heat. I turned on the fan, which was still blowing cold air when I entered the room.
