It wasn’t too long ago when I felt entirely desperate to get a job.
I put in applications at all the places that I thought I could handle.
The only place I heard back from was this fast food restaurant though. It certainly wouldn’t be my first pick, but this is how bad I needed a job. So I started working at the place as a cook. The thing I learned right away was how overheated the kitchen area got in the fast food place. Also, the air quality was not so great. I know they managed to keep the main eating area fairly comfortable because I would clean up there every now and again, but my main focus was cooking in the kitchen. I had plenty of experience with cooking, and I actually had a solution to the problem. When cooking at home, I had the same problem with the kitchen becoming overheated, so I had HVAC zone control installed so I could focus more cooling in the kitchen when I was cooking. I also had a ventilation system installed to easily let the overheated air out of the kitchen area. I thought this would be a great solution for the fast food restaurant with HVAC zone control and so I told the boss about it. Surprisingly, he thought it was a great idea. He actually would help in the kitchen when we were low on staff members, and he knew exactly how unpleasant it was working in the overheated area. He decided to invest in the HVAC zone control and the ventilation system, and it worked like a charm. No longer was it incredibly overheated and uncomfortable while cooking!
