Installing a rooftop heating/cooling unit for new fitness center

When I decided to open a fitness center in my hometown, it took me a while to find the ideal location.

I toured quite a few different buildings, looking for a place with sufficient square footage and parking.

I wanted my business to be a convenient drive from the surrounding areas and easily accessible. I needed sufficient space to house a wide variety of fitness machines, weight lifting equipment, locker rooms and studios for group classes. When I finally came across the perfect spot, the building had been left vacant for many years. There was water damage from a leaking roof, broken windows and concerns with the plumbing. The electric panel was outdated and the commercial heating and cooling unit was positively ancient. The HVAC equipment was giant-sized, extremely unattractive and took up a great deal of space in the parking lot. The ducts were obviously corroded and filthy. Maintaining a comfortable temperature in a fitness center is extremely important and a big part of the budget. I needed a system that could handle demand without draining my budget. I consulted with a professional HVAC contractor who confirmed that the heating and cooling system was not salvageable. I was just as happy to get rid of it. I replaced it with a rooftop unit. Locating the heating/cooling unit on the roof freed up space in the parking lot and eliminated an eyesore. Plus, it keeps operational noise away from my clients and makes the equipment easy to service or repair. A technician can work on the system without disrupting my business. The rooftop unit provides both heating and cooling, operates quietly and is especially energy efficient.
