I have a friend who happens to be a mortician. When I asked him how he got into that line of work, he actually told me he was always a big fan of the “Undertaker”. I guess that was supposed to be a joke as morticians are often referred to as undertakers. He said it’s not something that is a dream job or anything, but it’s something that he just got into. He said one of the things he thought about was the fact that working with the dead requires keeping the bodies cold, which means powerful air conditioning. He said he always was a fan of powerful air conditioning, and he said that was one of his motivations. It seems rather bizarre, but he swears that it was one of the main reasons why he wanted to take on the job. He claims that he always runs hot and even his wife fights with him over the temperature control settings at home. This is why they had to invest in HVAC zone control so he can stay in his area of the house and have the A/C cranked up just as high as the A/C is when he is working with dead bodies.
