My husband and I went to the hardware store to purchase some wood for the deck.
We built the deck almost five years ago, and there are a few places where the boards are warping.
My husband and I decided to replace all of those boards last Saturday. While we were at the hardware store, we saw the manager giving a demonstration of a new product in stock. That new product was a programmable thermostat. My husband and I were not interested in buying a thermostat, but we got sucked into watching the entire 20 minute demonstration. By the end of the sales patch, my husband was convinced that we needed to buy a new thermostat for our home. I knew that we did not need a new thermostat, but I could not argue with my husband. He spent most of the day on Saturday trying to figure out how to install the programmable thermostat. We didn’t get any work completed on the deck, and that was going to be our major project for the weekend. I will admit that the new thermostat is a great way to save money. I love being able to set the temperature a few degrees warmer in the morning. My husband and I feel this is the coldest part of the day. I’m sure that it was a good idea to purchase the programmable thermostat, but I really hope we can get all of the deck work completed next weekend. After all, we are supposed to have an outdoor BBQ at the end of the month. I really want the deck to be fixed before the party.
