Someone delivered a new gas furnace to the wrong house

When I came home from labor on Sunday, there was a truly large cardboard box sitting on the doorstep.

I didn’t order anything online, so I certainly didn’t assume what could be in the box.

It was severely heavy and I was unable to lift the box on my own. I waited until my hubby came home and the numerous of us dragged the box into the house so every one of us could open it up. The box came from a manufacturing company that sells Heating and Cooling supplies. I asked my hubby if he ordered something, however he did not. There was an invoice inside of the box. The address on the invoice was our address, but the name on the bill was someone else. I did not guess the name on the bill as a person from our city. I looked up the name of the person online and I found out that there was a person with the same name living in the same city. I had to think that the contents of the box should have been delivered to that person. Inside of the box was a brand new gas furnace. The price on the invoice for the gas furnace was severely high. Someone would have been truly frustrated if they did not get the items that they ordered. I contacted the company that sent the items. They would not provide me any information for the person that bought the item. Even when I told the lady on the iPhone that I was trying to track down the actual owner of the gas furnace, she still refused to provide me any additional information because my name was not on the account.
