Ten days is too long to wait to get paid

I started working for an HVAC repair company two weeks ago.

On Friday of last week, I was supposed to receive my first paycheck.

I have 65 hours on the clock for the two week time period, and I was expecting to receive a check for almost $1,000. When Friday came and went and I didn’t get paid, I scheduled a meeting to talk with my boss. I wasn’t going to leave for the day until I had money in my pocket. He gave me a bunch of excuses, but he didn’t really have a reason why I didn’t get paid. I worked hard for two weeks on HVAC repair jobs and I wasn’t going to wait any longer to get paid. I started working the day after the last pay period ended, so I already had to wait a long time to get paid. It took ten days to get my first paycheck and I had to call the corporate office to get my money. I tried talking to my boss, but he didn’t move fast enough. As soon as I called the corporate office, I found out that the reason I didn’t get paid was my bosses fault. He forgot to send the right paperwork to the payroll office. He knew it was his fault the entire time, but he never took any responsibility for the mistake. I waited ten extra days before I received my first paycheck and the boss never apologized. If this wasn’t the only place to work in the county, I would find another HVAC company.
