I really haven’t missed going in to work at the office for the past few months.
- It’s not that I don’t like my job or the people that I work with.
I really like the building that I work in, too. It has a great view and really great architecture both inside and outside the building. The only problem that I actually have with going to work is the fact that the HVAC system in the office is absolutely terrible. In the winter, the heating system comes on full blast for hours at a time and the temperature gets so hot that you feel like you are just going to melt into a puddle right there at your desk. It’s truly awful. I often complain about it to the building manager, but he says that there’s really nothing that he can do about it because he’s not in charge of the temperature settings. I don’t understand why he can’t fix it because I thought that he was in charge of everything related to the maintenance part of the building. I guess I was wrong, though. It’s the same problem in the summer, but with the air conditioning, of course. The whole office is absolutely freezing during the summer time and I actually have to wear my winter coat to work in the middle of July sometimes. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to regulate the temperature in the office, but it’s really a terrible problem. That’s why I can live without going into the office. I miss a lot of things about actually going to work in the mornings, but the indoor air quality in the building is not one of them!
