When I was in university I worked part time in a video store.
- It was a pretty great task in the winter.
There constantly were a lot of great movies coming out around that time, business was booming as well as I had a lot of minutes. I would toil with more than 2 employees cashing people out, putting movies back on the shelves as well as just hanging out. The store heating method was a good a single. Whoever set the thermostat was certainly generous with the heating. I could wear long skirts as well as short sleeves in the Wintertide while I worked. Once the weather turned hot, that was a totally unusual story all together. Not as many people liked to rent movies in the summer. It would only be necessary to have a single worker in the store. That made going to the bathroom difficult. It was hard getting all the people cashed out as well as returning movies to the floor. It also was boring as well as lonely. The worst part was the cooling system, or lack of AC. The store didn’t truly own an a/c. What they used was overhead fans to push the frigid air around the store. The fans sat stationary all year long though. No a single thought to clean the blades. The dust from the blades then circulated in the store as well as ruined the air quality. My eyes would be bright yellow as well as itchy after a shift. I would cough as well as sneeze as well. It was just horrible. I think that is the main reason I quit there. I couldn’t kneel having that hot, dirty air circling around me.
