Without AC, gym gets nasty, quickly

There was never adequate cooling or air filtration for the sweaty and dirty air being created indoors

At the beginning of this year I decided that enough was enough. I wasn’t going to let myself take the easy route and live like a piece of garbage anymore. For the past several years, I have been letting myself slide. I haven’t been taking good care of myself mentally or physically, and the results have been pervasively negative. I feel like my mental health is slipping along with my physical health, and it was finally time to grab the bull by the horns and make big changes. That’s why I went out and hired a personal trainer along with a personal nutritionist in January. Since then, I’ve been working my butt off trying to get back in shape and trying to correct everything in my life. One of the most important things that I realized was the critical nature of finding a comfortable place to get physical exercise. For many years, I had a gym membership that I didn’t use. It seems like every time I went to the gym, they had some kind of air conditioning failure going on. From the moment I would walk in the door, I would be drenched in sweat and struggling to breathe through the heat and humidity trapped indoors. Without AC, it was sweltering. They usually had standing fans blowing and every corner of the gym, but this ventilation only served to blow nasty hot air in various directions. There was never adequate cooling or air filtration for the sweaty and dirty air being created indoors. With all of this low quality indoor air and physical discomfort, it’s no wonder I had such a problem getting to the gym. These days, I splurge on an expensive gym membership… but I can always count on adequate air conditioning.
