I didn’t even know I had an uncle until recently when my father took me to see him.
- He told me the story about his brother and how he always just wanted to be left alone since their mother passed away so long ago.
My father said that his brother was so upset and actually tried to kill himself when she died. He still has the scar from the noose he had around his neck and he was angry when my dad cut him down and saved his life. He said he never wanted to see him or talk to him again, until recently. Apparently, my father reached out to him and asked him to please put the past behind us so we could still be a family. Well, I guess my uncle agreed and invited us over. I was impressed with the size of the house. It would seem that my uncle is rich, to a certain degree. When I met him, he said that he made a lot of investments over the years that turned out to be extremely profitable. My father said he was always the genius of the family, and it showed. I couldn’t believe how nice the place was inside and I noticed there were fireplaces in a lot of the rooms, and there were indoor HVAC units as well. I asked about the HVAC system and my uncle said it was a ductless HVAC with zones in every room for customized temperature control settings. He said it saved him a lot of money for heating and cooling purposes. I thought that was really cool, and my uncle turned out to be an alright guy, at least from our first meeting. He said I can come visit anytime.
