I understand that new Heating & A/C professionals are going to make mistakes. The first couple of times they were out on the task, they got upset & a little flighty. I’ve dealt with this multiple times, & I’m used to it. It wasn’t his incompetence that had myself and others irritated, but it was his attitude. Even though he knew he was making mistakes, he still made it sound like he was the best Heating & A/C professional to come out of the school. I did not like this attitude. My fiance got house & went downstairs to see what was the problem. The young man started bragging about all the experiences he had. My fiance brushed his nose off with his hand & just stood there & stared at him. I knew the young man was in for a lecture; Before my fiance retired, he worked for the local Heating & A/C company. He was 1 of their top Heating & A/C professionals. My fiance stood behind the young man & watched what he was doing with the furnace. After about multiple minutes, he commented on a couple of mistakes the young man had made. The young man turned & cockily told my fiance that he was the Heating & A/C professional here & my fiance needed to mind his own business. As soon as those words came out of the young man’s mouth, my fiance hit the roof. He told him he had been an Heating & A/C professional for almost 40 years, & he had forgotten 10 times more than this young man knew. When he got done talking, the young man had the intelligence to turn around & apologize for his being cheeky, & ask if my fiance thought there was anything he had forgotten.
