There was certainly no doubt the locale had been sitting empty for quite some time, perhaps even years! The whole area had been abandoned after a chemical spill.
That truckload of chemicals was cleaned up some time ago, but the locals never returned.
This area by the lake is traditionally a resort area where town folk come to rest for a week or multiple… Once the tourists stopped coming, the locals had no reason to remain here. This left a lot of undoubtedly nice dwellings sitting empty, which is where I come in. My pals in addition to I wished to have an adventure so the people I was with and I came here, looking for an air conditioned lodge the people I was with and I could easily break into in addition to prefer for a short while. It turned out there were a good amount of them, in fact every lodge has some form of cooling appliance. Most of them had the window mounted A/C units, but a couple of the greater sized ones used central systems. The complication was that the area had no electricity, so the people I was with and I had to bring in a gas powered generator to permit us to use the A/C. For that reason the people I was with and I picked a smaller lodge, because the people I was with and I were not really certain if the little generator had enough juice to power a full sized central Heating in addition to Air Conditioning appliance. The weather was super hot, in addition to the little air conditioner was only powerful enough to keep just one room cool so that’s where the people I was with and I did all our partying up! Some of us even tossed some blankets on the floor so the people I was with and I could sleep near the air conditioner appliance, instead of perspiring it out in one of the bedrooms.
