When I first went to visit at my friend’s house, the place was freezing cold.
I asked him why he had the A/C cranked up so much.
That’s when he admitted that he was kind of addicted to air conditioning. He said he couldn’t stand it if the thermostat settings were above 64 degrees because then he felt too overheated. I asked him if he paid a small fortune on his energy bills. That’s when he told me that he had such an advanced cooling system with rapid cooling technology that his energy bills were actually pretty low. Not to mention his cooling system had HVAC zone control so he could focus the cooling energy in the areas he was using. He said if he had to go to another section of his home, he could easily make the adjustments and those areas would be cooled down in minutes thanks to his rapid cooling system. I was honestly a bit skeptical and I told him to show me. So we went into one of the other rooms where it actually felt more comfortable to me. The room was pretty hot, but at least it wasn’t freezing. He adjusted the settings on the thermostat and it was amazing how fast the A/C came flooding into the room! I felt like I was in a warm jungle and suddenly was thrust into the Arctic Circle! The next time I came to visit my friend, I learned my lesson and realized that I had to bring a jacket with me so that I wasn’t too cold. I have to do this in the winter too because he doesn’t set the heating system very high because he still prefers the cold temps in the winter months.
