My wife and I went to a party a couple of weeks ago.
It was her sister’s birthday, and they were throwing it at a venue outside of town.
There were hotel rooms at a discounted price for anyone who wanted to spend the night. We ended up sitting with some friends of my sister-in-law’s husband. The man was talking about HVAC like he was a HVAC technician. I thought my wife would enjoy herself since he was talking about what she knew. When I heard what he was saying about geothermal HVAC, I gritted my teeth. He was saying how geothermal HVAC was going to save him money on his energy bills and then he said how he would never have to pay an electric bill again once he installed his geothermal system. My wife began getting antsy when he said he had tried a ductless HVAC system, but it never worked well, so he was now installing a geothermal HVAC. Before I realized what was happening, my wife was leaning toward him with her most seductive and sweetest smile, and looking him in the eyes. When she put her fist under her chin, I winced. I could hear her whisper, “What makes you an expert on HVAC?” He thought it was a compliment, but I knew differently. She then kissed his cheek and told him she had been a HVAC technician long before he was potty-trained. If he wanted to discuss heating, air conditioning, ductless HVAC, and geothermal, he should first know what he is talking about. She patted his cheek, and we moved to another table. The young man didn’t stick around much longer.
