The A/C machine was not responsive

The old house had been part of our family for a long time, it belonged to our superb uncle, who left it in a terrible state.

We used it occasionally to host a gathering but never thought about repairing it.

The rooms were intact, the house needed an upgrade, most of the furniture was outdated and falling apart. That was the same case with the interior, which we had hoped to complete in one day. After we got an inheritance connected to the old house, we decided to take the plunge. Both of us had held a gathering at the house a few weeks back and turned on the A/C system. It was winter and the heat was a must in such a space. The house had an aging heating and A/C plan that we had to maintain numerous times to get to work. Before we could decide to substitute it, we had an offer to host one more gathering. That meant some cash was coming in, which we could use for the upgrade. It was our job to make sure everything was in order, including the furnace. I went to turn it on, but it was not responsive. My worry was the A/C machine had finally given up and broken down completely. My sibling urged me to call in an Ac worker to come and check it out. I got on the PC with the A/C corporation in town and booked an appointment. A few minutes later, an aircon professional was at the outdated house diagnosing the A/C issue, but he noted that the air conditioner in the house was affected by critters. It turns out rats had built nests in the ductwork when we last had the A/C on to escape the freezing winter. The nests and accumulated debris were preventing airflow, which caused the A/C to stop finally working. Much of the ductwork was still intact, however there were gaps where the critters had gotten in.
