There were nests in the ductwork

The old home had been in our family for a long time.

  • It belonged to my great uncle, who left it in a bad state.

All of us used it occasionally to host a celebration but never thought about repairing it, and the rooms were intact, but the home needed a big update. Most of the furniture was old and falling apart. That was the same case with the interior, which we had hoped to work on one day. After we got an inheritance affixed to the old house, we decided to take the plunge. We had held a celebration at our home a few weeks back and turned on the AC system. It was winter, and the heat was a must in such a space. The old apartment had an aging HVAC method that we had to service several times to get to work. Before we could decide to replace it, we had an offer to host one more celebration. That meant some currency was coming in, which we could use for the substitute. It was my job to make sure everything was in order, including the furnace. I went to turn it on, but it was not responsive. My worry was the AC component had finally given up plus broken down completely. My sibling urged me to call in an A/C worker to come and check it out. I got on the phone with the AC company in the neighborhood and booked an appointment. A few minutes later, an aircon professional was at the old home diagnosing the AC issue. She noted that the air conditioner in the apartment was affected by critters. It turns out rats had built nests in the duct work when we last had the AC on to escape the cold winter. The nests and accumulated debris were preventing airflow, which caused the AC to stop working. Much of the duct work was still intact, but there were gaps where the critters had gotten in.
