I have regularly been a big fan of my smart thermostat… I use the app all the time to operate temperature control when I am not home.
I live with my teenage child plus he leaves for school about an hour after I leave for work; Every afternoon, I have a timer that turns the air conditioner off at the time when my child leaves the house.
Then, the air conditioner is busy to turn back on in the afternoon. This helps me to save energy plus money. This month, I got my electric bill plus the amount was triple the familiar bill! I was dumbfounded! I called the electric dealer, plus they didn’t help me at all. They suggested that I double check the information on my thermostat app; When I looked, everything was set the way it should be. I called the Heating plus Air Conditioning contractor plus someone came in to take a look. It turns out that my timer was not laboring the entire month!! There was no fantastic explanation for it either! The Heating plus Air Conditioning worker was able to repair the timer, however it cost me, then not to mention all the money I had already lost on my electric bill! Even though I appreciated the convenience of my smart thermostat app, I am pretty much back to manually changing the settings. I don’t want to risk another malfunction that costs me hundreds of dollars. I told my child that he’s now responsible for turning the air conditioner off before leaving in the afternoon plus turning it back on when he arrives condo from school. It’s not ideal, however you just can’t rely on technology all of the time after an error love that.
