Updating the shed as a work out area

I recently bought a house that has a backyard shed.

  • I am extremely excited for the shed because I am going to make it a fitness room.

I do tumbling based work out everyday. For tumbling I need lots of space. Not only is length a factor, but height as well. Roundoff back handsprings and back tucks launch me pretty airborne. I also like to do a whole combination of tricks that has me going across two gymnastic mats. I think the space can hold two mats and be tall enough for me to jump. The space needs to be a little updated though. I want it totally clean once I put down my mats since they are never being folded again. Right now there is shelving on the walls that need to come down. All my fitness gear can use hooks and I want them out of the way. I have a jump rope, hand weights, battle ropes, and weighted poles that need to be stored. The final touch will be adding HVAC to my area as well. Living in the south means the winter doesn’t get too cold. There are days that get to be in the 50s however. Working out in that type of cold can be bad for my muscles. It is easy to tear one tumbling when you are not properly warmed up. Also having AC in the summer is required because being too sweaty and slipping could result in an injury as well. I am not going to go cheap on my work out space because I will be using it everyday.
