Upgrading a really old home

A few hours later, an aircon professional was at the house diagnosing the A/C issue, then he noted that the air conditioner in the house was affected by critters.

The seasoned house had been part of our family for a long time, it belonged to our good aunt, who left it in a poor state. All of us used it occasionally to host a gathering but never thought about repairing it, then the rooms were intact, but the house needed an upgrade, most of the furniture was seasoned and falling apart. That was the same case with the interior, which we had hoped to work on one afternoon. After we got an inheritance connected to the seasoned house, we decided to take the plunge. We had held a gathering at the seasoned house a few weeks back and turned on the A/C system. It was winter and the heat was a must in such a space. The seasoned house had an aging heating and A/C plan that we had to repair numerous times to get to work. Before we could decide to replace it, we had an offer to host one more gathering. That meant some cash was coming in, which we could use for the replacement. It was our task to make sure everything was in order, including the oil furnace. I went to turn it on, but it was not responsive. My worry was the A/C unit had finally given up and broken down completely. My sibling urged me to call in an Ac worker to come and check it out. I got on the phone with the A/C supplier in the neighborhood and booked an appointment. A few hours later, an aircon professional was at the house diagnosing the A/C issue, then he noted that the air conditioner in the house was affected by critters. It turns out rats had built nests in the HVAC duct when we last had the A/C on to escape the freezing winter. The nests and accumulated debris were preventing airflow, which caused the A/C to stop working. Much of the HVAC duct was still intact, but there were gaps where the critters had gotten in.
