Sometimes, your day might start out good, but then at the end of the day, it all might go wrong.
I’ve had days like that, and last week was no exception.
Last Thursday, I went to work as usual, and managed to get most of my files and a project done early! So it was a good day. When I got home, I was even more surprised when my boyfriend presented a gift to me. He presented the last few checks he had not cashed in from his job, and he told me with that money, we can finally go on my dream vacation. Riding horses on the beach on a beautiful island with crystal clear waters. Everything was falling in place. I went to bed early that night in anticipation of leaving for vacation soon. I then called my boss and he agreed to let me have time off on the days of vacation. Everything was perfect, that is until I woke up a few hours later. I woke up around 11:00 pm, and I was surprised to feel the house was ice cold, which must have been what woke me up. As I went to check on the heating system, my boyfriend intercepted me and told me the heater was broken. The money that was originally intended for my dream vacation instead went to paying for a new furnace installation. My day off was used for the HVAC appointment. I was crushed, I knew my boyfriend had worked hard to save up all that money, and since we both don’t make much money, it was going to be a long time before we could try for a vacation again. All because the HVAC system had to mess up.
