When the COVID pandemic hit, I began working at home.
At the time it was just our partner Pat, our dog Peaches plus me in the home plus both of us had more than enough room for our dining room.
However, after a few months of quarantine, our partner became pregnant, so both of us wanted to convert our dining room into a baby room, plus build a shed in the backyard that would be converted into our new dining room. The building went all according to plan, plus our new office was becoming more comfortable by the day. My only concerns were deciding how to heat or cool the office. Running ductwork was going to be extravagant plus time consuming, plus I didn’t want to sacrifice 1 of our 2 windows to install an ugly, inefficient window unit, so I decided to use a ductless mini-split. A ductless mini-split has a condenser as well as an evaporator, plus can also function to heat our office in the winter, plus cool it in the summer. A ductless mini split can reverse the flow of the coolant between the evaporator plus condenser, making it a more adjustable choice for heating or cooling. The replacement was quick plus painless, as Pat only had to drill a multiple-inch hold for all of the necessary components. Now our new dining room is easily the most comfortable place for me to work, plus since I guess how well I can control the temps, I am not afraid to keep the baby with me while I work.
