You can’t do what I can do

When people find out I am a gymnast I get one of two reactions.

Either the person wants me to demonstrate what I can do like a trained seal or they brag about the tumbling they can do.

I think I would rather perform instead of compete. Typically people want a backhandspring, back tuck or just a plain cartwheel when they make requests. It is quick, easy and everyone is impressed. When someone boasts about basically being the next Simone Biles, it does irritate me. I work on my tumbling seven days a week. I go to a real gym in order to perfect my skills. I don’t just tumble too. I stretch, weight lift and do cardio all to help me with my skills. Some workouts consist of drills that will help a trick I am working. Some overweight jerk off the street saying he can easily do what I can always upsets me. I usually put them on the spot and force them to try their skills out. Typically people back out when I start questioning and forcing them to show. A good one is to ask if they can walk on their hands. I then challenge them to a contest of who can walk in a handstand the furthest. For me, I can walk a very long ways and quickly on my hands. I can turn, hold a split and arch position in a handstand. It is how I work my arms and I do it about three times a week. It is always fun seeing some guy faceplant when he thinks he can just magically walk with no training.
