The room didn't have a view of the beach, but the AC was cold

After my sister and her boyfriend broke up, she was really upset and devastated.

She was sad all the time and I couldn’t do anything to make her feel better.

My mom thought it was a good idea to get her away from the house for a couple of days, so I suggested going to the beach. My sister perked up a little bit when I said we could stay in a room with a view of the water. I made reservations at a nice place by the beach and I picked a room with a view of the water. I knew my sister would be happy if she could put her feet in the water. The beach always makes her feel better. We got to the hotel around dinner time and the place was packed with people. When it was our turn to talk to Guest Services, they told us that we were lucky we had a reservation because they were all sold out. The clerk looked up the reservation that I made and he told me that they did not have any more rooms with a view of the beach. I was totally bummed out, but I didn’t want to argue with the guy. He gave us vouchers for a free breakfast in the restaurant and a free movie rental for the inconvenience. The room didn’t have a view of the beach, but the AC was ice cold. My sister and I turned the air conditioner down really low since we didn’t have to pay the electric bill. I don’t have a central AC in my apartment, so it was particularly nice. We didn’t have a great view of the beach, but we could still smell the salt in the air.
