I teach university section time and teaching high school.
I teach a night class at a huge University. I have taught in various classrooms, and correctly the central a/c worked perfectly. However, last Spring semester the central a/c in the classroom I was assigned to did not work well at all. My students always complained about how hot it was in the classroom and unfortunately I was not able to control the control unit in the room. I also was not able to open the windows. I sent an email out to ask if I could either transport classrooms or if an Heating and Air Conditioning supplier that works with the University could come out and check the a/c in our unique classroom. I really felt that I could not teach as well while covered in sweat. I also had to wear a mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19, so wearing a mask while lecturing in a non air conditioned room was not the easiest thing to do for myself and others personally. I also felt really awful for our students, it is harder to learn when the temperature is not comfortable. I got an email back saying that the Heating and Air Conditioning companys would go out that week to check on the issue. I also got an email confirming that the Heating and Air Conditioning companys found the concern and fixed it later in the week. I felt relieved and hopeful that our classroom would be air conditioned and our students and myself would recognize comfortable. When I went into the classroom, it still felt super hot and humid. I sent another email and hoped that the Heating and Air Conditioning techicians could come back to service the problem.
