The last spa manager told me that the job was awful.
Right before she walked out the front door and quit, she told me not to take the job.
As soon as she entered her car in the parking lot, the district manager tapped me on the shoulder. We went into the office and he offered me the job. I waited for a job in the management area for a long time and I did not want to turn down the opportunity. I definitely didn’t want to work for someone else. The district manager gave me a list of problems that I needed to fix and he told me that it was my responsibility to take care of the issues. My first week on the job was one problem after another. By the end of the day on friday, I just wanted to put up my feet and relax. I was supposed to leave at 5:00 p.m. and I had my keys and my jacket ready to go. One of the personal trainers came to the office at 4:45 to tell me that there was no air conditioning in the men’s locker room. I asked if he checked the thermostat and checked to make sure that the air conditioner wasn’t off at the time. He told me that the temperature inside of the locker room was 80° and the air conditioner appeared to be off for a while. I could not leave for the day until I fixed the problem with the air conditioner in the men’s locker room. I contacted one of the HVAC contractors listed on the wall in the office, but they could not help me with the repair. I contacted three more HVAC contractors before I found a commercial provider.
