When I bought my first house, I was just so excited not to be dealing with the less than stellar HVAC in my old apartment.
- That, and not having neighbors to my left, right, above and below.
It was like a whole new world. Plus, my new house came with new residential HVAC and all the HVAC technology that comes with the latest in heating and cooling. So I was just in heaven. While the honeymoon continued, I slowly began to realize that there was plenty of accountability that came with being a homeowner. There was a yard to mow and a keep neat. I had twice the area to keep clean inside the house. Not to mention all the insurance, mortgage and upkeep of the house as well. I wasn’t so good at it from the first. So I ended up coming up with a bit of a schedule to make sure things were getting done. One of the things on that schedule was the HVAC equipment. I had to be sure that I was taking good care of my brand new heating and cooling equipment. So I set alarms to be sure that I changed the HVAC air filter once a month without fail. The air filter is just so important as it collects stuff that might otherwise harm the HVAC unit. But as it collects that stuff, it reduces the air flow as the air filter gets full. Air flow is simply the lifeblood of the HVAC equipment so it that air filter simply has to be changed each month.
