Finally pulled the trigger on new HVAC

When the HVAC technician came out to do the spring air conditioning tune up, it came with something else.

Once he was done, he knocked on the door.

I figured he was just saying so long but that wasn’t it. He wanted to give me a heads up on the status of our heat pump. The HVAC professional told me that we should probably start thinking about an HVAC replacement plan. While the heat pump was still providing quality heating and air, there were parts of it that were wearing out that couldn’t be replaced. So he told me to watch for spiking heating and cooling costs as that was a sure sign that we had a problem. I took the HVAC professional at his word and we got busy trying to figure out what to do. The first thing we had to do was to get the money together for the new HVAC unit. This wasn’t to sort of purchase that could just write a check for. In the meantime, the heat pump just kept doing it’s things and I kept my eye on it and the heating and cooling utility costs. But it just kept going so I kept saving. More HVAC maintenance appointments went by and I thought tha maybe the HVAC technician got it wrong. And then we got through the middle of this summer and the heat pump simply couldn’t stop running. The HVAC cooling costs skyrocketed and we were lucky to get through the summer with the heat pump in tact. So we’ve finally pulled the trigger on getting new residential HVAC. We should have it all installed prior to the winter getting here which will be a relief.
