When my husband came home to inform me of the offer the company made him, I was really glad for that man.
This is the sort of guy who is basically unassuming, goes to work inside the commercial HVAC of an office building each day and loves his family.
While that may seem a bit boring, that’s just the way that man is. But his work is for sure his passion and comes second only to his daughters and me. That work has also provided us with a very nice life. We had a wonderful family home with great quality heating and air and many nice things. And finally, he was offered a gem of a job that came with moving to the south. Since the kids were in college, I didn’t see any reason not to start a new chapter somewhere warm. He got my blessing which is all he needed to accept the new position. So we upgraded the HVAC equipment and sold our family home which wasn’t as painful as I thought it was going to be. I think knowing I was moving to a winter without a gas furnace and plenty of sunshine sure helped. The very first day, my husband came home from work beaming. Not only did he think this was going to be the defining part of his career but the new office had zone controlled HVAC. I was happy for him for sure. But in the back of my mind I was like you stay in that zone controlled HVAC all you want, I’m getting some sun!
