Helped my son create his own sound studio in the garage

My son has always been a talented musician.

He comes up with his own instrumentals that he makes with his keyboard, guitar, and microphone. He also has some amazing vocals. He wanted me to help him make a little sound studio and he asked if he could use the garage space for it. We never put our cars in the garage, so I didn’t see why not. I also realized that he needed a number of things to have a proper little sound studio. We needed to soundproof the garage so it wasn’t so noisy, we needed to install some type of HVAC system, and we needed to get him some better equipment for the sound studio. The first thing I did was call an HVAC company to see how much it would cost to either extend the ductwork into the garage or just install a separate HVAC system. The HVAC tech I spoke to recommended that I go with a ductless mini-split HVAC. He said it would only require an outdoor condenser and an indoor HVAC unit for the heating and cooling functions in the garage. The best part was that the installation was reasonable, and the ductless mini-split was highly energy efficient. After I had the HVAC part taken care of, I proceeded to have the garage soundproofed. Then I helped my son move his existing equipment into the garage. After that, we talked about what other equipment he needed. We got him an upgraded sound system and quality microphones for recording. Now he makes a lot of money just by helping people record their music regularly. I’m really proud of my son.
