Lifting the wrong amount of weight

I came back from one vacation totally jacked.

As a woman I don’t really like to build muscle.

My body could easily have arms like Arnold if I put a little work in. Usually when I lift weights it is very low weight and high repetition. I also don’t lift more than one day a week. On vacation I found that the hotel gym only had free weights, one treadmill and hardly any room to stretch. So because there was nothing else, I did a ton of weightlifting. I was in a foreign country though. I didn’t realize that the weights were all labeled with kilograms rather than pounds. It is just a habit to pick up the number 8 no matter what. I remember thinking I was super weak and out of shape because the eight weight was too much for me. I made myself lift every single day until it wasn’t a problem anymore. I made sure to target my biceps and tricep. I also lifted above my head, extended from my body and did punching drills with the weight. When I went home everyone remarked on how jacked and toned my arms looked. It took me until I lifted my home free weights of eight pounds. They felt pathetically light. I then realized I didn’t do the conversion from pounds to kilograms on vacation. Turns out I was lifting around 17 pounds everyday on vacation and building muscle. I made myself do high repetition and at double the weight I am used to. I felt like such an idiot.
