So I did and it paid off big time
For years, I had been trying my hardest to take the next step in my career with the company I had devoted more than a decade of my working life. This company was the first to offer me a job out of college. I was so ready to put the dorm days and all that radiant heating in the past that I took that job. In retrospect, perhaps I should have entertained more offers. But I just got into the commercial HVAC of that office and got after it. The work was what I wanted to do and so I really applied myself. In the first few years, I rose pretty quickly which allowed me to actually buy a small house. It was again a situation of putting not so great heating and cooling behind me once I left that apartment for good. My house came with brand new HVAC equipment which provides the very best quality heating and air I’ve ever experienced. But since then, I haven’t been able to get the real career making promotion. It was just so frustrating that I felt as though I was just completely stuck. That’s when an old college buddy gave me a reality check. The company I worked for wasn’t the only one out there. It sort of never dawned on me to look elsewhere. So I did and it paid off big time. Not only did I get the sort of position I was looking for but it came with a big raise. And the new offices I work for has zone controlled HVAC on top of everything!
