I was raised by my grandparents.
My dad left when I was very little, and since my mom used drugs when I was a kid, the state thought that it would be better for me to be raised by my grandparents. In a way, it was nice to be raised by my grandparents. They were much wiser than my parents, and they loved me a lot, so I never felt abandoned. However, I missed out on the grandparents that spoil their grandchildren and give them whatever they want. I was raised in an old-school home, and I had to live without a lot of the modern luxuries that my friends had. For instance, we never had an air conditioner when I was growing up. All of the kids in my school had air conditioners in their homes because air conditioners were popular in those days. Their parents were young and wanted to try new things. However, my grandparents were raised without an air conditioner, and since they had never used an air conditioner, they didn’t really think that it was necessary to own an air conditioner. When I started living at their house, they did not change their approach to the air conditioner. Since they survived without an air conditioner, they knew that I could survive without an air conditioner. I could probably tell you some sob story about how it felt like torture to live without an air conditioner, but it honestly wasn’t that bad. Since I didn’t use an air conditioner, I didn’t know what I was missing. I didn’t really begin using an air conditioner until I was in college. At first, I didn’t like it, but it grew on me.
