It is a cool crisp Wednesday nearing the end of May and I hope my buddy and I can have another month or so of this cooler weather before the crazy heat sets in.
Periodically the month of June can be nice and ordinary and I am hoping this June is going to be one of those months.
June and July are pretty much scorchers, and so having a cool June is a good thing for us people who don’t like the severe heat. My Mom always liked it actually hot all of the time, even when he was sleeping the air con was never running in his home office during the summer. He liked to keep the house at about 79F all day, which was way too hot for me, so I would only come visit during the evenings when it cooled off a bit. His house was important and his two monstrous Heating and Air Conditioning systems used a lot of power I bet, however my buddy and I never actually found out because he rarely ran the a/c even during the hottest of summers. I am quite the opposite in my flat here overseas, keeping the place cool all year round whether it is opening the windows in the winter season or running the air the whole summer. I live in a small flat and running the temperature control system isn’t as costly as it was for my Mom’s five home office five washroom mansion back in the day. Mom is gone now and his house just got sold, marking the end of a good era of fun and good memories. I cherish you pops, wish I could have showed you it more when you were alive though.
