A couple of years ago, we totally updated the hotel’s heating and cooling system. We installed a VRF or Variable Refrigerant Flow system. This type of system utilizes a single outdoor component linked to multiple indoor units. The indoor units each feature an independent thermostat that allows for zoned control. Because it is a modular design, we can add units or replace units at any time without disrupting the system. The ability of the system to vary the flow of refrigerant ensures the precise amount of heating or cooling necessary to maintain consistent temperature. Plus, the system allows for simultaneous heating and cooling. It’s capable of heating one room while cooling another. It will redirect the heat recovered from the cooling process to heat another room, achieving outstanding efficiency levels.
