I love living in my small town in the south. Everybody knows everybody and people look out for each other. The only problem is the lack of choices. There is only one HVAC service and supply company in this town and two HVAC technicians. Furthermore, small town gossip was that one of the HVAC technicians had a drinking problem and the other one didn’t know as much as he should. That’s why my brother decided to become an HVAC technician. He had called and complained about the service that he had gotten from the HVAC technician that had been to his house and was told that there was nobody else in town to replace him. My brother loved small town life and made an hour long drive to and from work every day just to be able to continue to live here, and he saw his opportunity knocking. So, he started taking classes at night after work in the nearby town that he was working in and eventually became a certified HVAC technician. He got a job with the local HVAC service and supply company and now works with the same man he complained about. Unfortunately, this town needs another good HVAC technician to replace the unknowledgable one that my poor brother more often than not has to cover for. Meanwhile, my brother loves his job. He has always been smart and good with his hands, and he’s the friendly sort. Now he gets to work on the HVAC systems of friends and neighbors we don’t get to see very often. We both love living in our small town.
