The other day when I went to see my family doctor, I never dreamed that the prescription he would give me would be to call up our local HVAC company! I was actually expecting for him to give me a prescription for a new kind of allergy medication or something like that, since I was going to see him for all of the coughing and sneezing that I had been doing.
I was getting really tired of all of the allergy symptoms and I was leaning toward even getting weekly allergy shots to try and help myself.
However, when I got inside the doctor’s office and started talking to him about all of my allergy problems, he actually suggested that I call up my local HVAC company when I got home. He said that sometimes you can fix the symptoms that you’re suffering with just by fixing the indoor air quality in your home. No one had ever told me anything like this before and so I would have to say that I was more than a little bit shocked that he didn’t want to just write me another prescription like most doctors do. He actually wanted me to ask my HVAC technician to come to the house and do an assessment of our heating and cooling system. He even said that we might want to look into getting a whole home air conditioning system for the house that would run at the same time as the heating and cooling system. If this works, then that means I might not ever have to take allergy medications again!
