When I left work last night, I shut off the air purifier.
I don’t normally allow the machine to run all night long, because it costs a lot of money.
Just running the extra air cleaning machine everyday for the past eighteen months has raised our business electric bills by 15%. I didn’t want to rent the air cleansing machine, but after Covid hit the area hard, it was a rule. If I wanted to open the dry cleaning business after the quarantine, I had to arrange to have an air cleaning machine in the building. Thankfully, several local HVAC distribution centers offered to rent the machines for a low and affordable weekly or monthly rate. I pay a weekly rate that is around three dollars everyday. The machine is in the lobby where the customers interact with our staff. The building used to smell like dry cleaning chemicals and wrinkly spray, but now the air is fresh and clean. The air purifier removes all of the harmful dust and lint that gets into the air. It also removes the odors and chemical fumes. The air cleaner is a really nice addition to the dry cleaning business. When I came to work this morning and turned on the machine, I heard a loud click and then the power shut off. I tried to power the machine on again, but I had no success. I was forced to call the service company to check on the machine. I don’t think that I will stop using an air filtration machine in my store as long as I can continue to receive the great rental rates and a service contract.
