Someday I am going to have HVAC zone control. When my boyfriend and I lived in an apartment, it wasn’t a big deal. The apartment heating and cooling wasn’t all that powerful. My boyfriend could lower the thermostat all he wanted, our apartment was just going to be the same temperature everyday. I loved that temperatur eit choose too. I was always comfortable. We recently bought a house and debated on getting new HVAC. We choose to wait until the current central HVAC unit dies. My boyfriend is super excited with how well the heating and cooling works. In the winter he hardly runs the heater and deems our place hot enough. In the summer he cranks the AC system to where it is around 70 degrees in the home. I am always cold, no matter the time of year. In the summer I wear long pants while I work on my laptop. I have to keep my winter comforter on my bed all year. I don’t sleep as well due to the cold. I can’t talk my boyfriend out of the settings though. He whines so hard about being overheated. It is not worth the fight. Someday I want to rip out the HVAC and get a ductless unit. I want to have indoor air handlers in every room with a thermostat. That way my boyfriend’s bedroom, office and living room can be icy cold. My room and the kitchen then can be warm. It would be nice to be able to sleep comfortably for once.
