Waiting for the HVAC to die

I have been kind of waiting and hoping my HVAC system dies. My HVAC unit makes a horrible whistle noise when it operates. You can only hear the whistle outside of the house though. Think of how often your own HVAC unit runs. I basically try to avoid going outside because of the noise. My poor dogs bark and whine when it comes on and they don’t like to go outside either. I have gotten where I just try not to run the heating and cooling whenever possible. That is not good. My heating and air conditioning device is 17 years old. Online they say my particular unit can last from 10-20 years. So I really only have a few years left on it. I read online that my particular brand and style of HVAC is known to be noisy. One guy on a chat forum said he replaced all the inner workings and it still whistled. It must be some kind of defect in how the system was made or put together. Since there is no hope of fixing my current system, I just need it to die. I have already received the money for a new unit. I can’t wait to get a brand new heating and cooling device. It will be totally clean, silent and efficient. I also have decided to spoil myself and have an air purifier installed right when I get the new unit too. I will have it mounted in my return ducts. That way I will have fresher air and feel good all year around. Now all I need is my HVAC unit to just stop working.
