He heard them talking to themselves

A couple contacted the A/C repair service to request help and Ben was the serviceman that was assigned to help them with the issue.

It was so bad that he got the silly customers. When Ben arrived, the couple seemed strange and uneasy. They were pacing all over the house, even after Ben got into their home. Ben is aware that some customers can have anxiety about the repairs, however the couple was acting strangely. He heard them talking to themselves and that made Ben feel even more weird. He told them that the AC needed new parts. The couple asked Ben how much the repair was going to cost. He gave them a quote of $190. He was only charging them a minimal fee for the service call and the actual fees for the parts. This was a discount from the actual $200. Unluckily the patrons did not agree. They were convinced that Ben was trying to pull a fast one on them and alleged he broke the part so they would have to spend their money on the business. Ben told the couple that they contacted him in the first place after the equipment failed to work. They continued to yell at him until Ben finally left and refused to repair the machinery. He wanted to help the couple and repair the air conditioning system, however the couple would not stop being mean and they were not going to spend their money for the repair even if Ben replaced the faulty parts.
