My mom called me on Tuesday and she asked me to come over after work.
I told my mom that I had a meeting, but she still wanted me to stop.
I didn’t get to the house until almost 7:30. It was already dark and it looked like it was starting to snow. There were flurries in the air, but the forecast had not been for snow. I stopped at my mom’s and she told me that my dad was downstairs trying to fix the furnace. I immediately knew why my mom tried to call me. When my dad tries to fix the furnace on his own, sometimes there are problems. My mom thought I might be able to help him out. My dad was trying to figure out how to increase the capacity of the blower motor to make more heat come out of the furnace. I gave my dad a couple of pointers. I told him that the best thing to do was to put a toggle switch on the machine. He agreed that was a good idea. I told him that I could help him out on Saturday if he wanted to wait a couple of days. The furnace was running and it wasn’t having any trouble, so it didn’t seem like the problem was pressing. My dad disagreed. There was something in his voice that told me he was not going to wait until the weekend. I told my dad that he should contact an expert HVAC business contractor but he said that it was not necessary.
